This unit comes with an Auto-locking feature that you can set between 10-seconds to 99-seconds. This unit utilizes a traditional keyway to unlock the door in the event that the unit should loose power or a code is forgotten. The Defiant Castle Touchpad Lever is powered by 4 AA batteries (Not Included), so no hardwiring is required.
